Application Procedure for Visa Debit Card:
-
The customer must have a current account or savings account in Iraqi Dinars with the Islamic Investment Bank.
-
Approval of the terms and conditions related to the bank's debit card.
-
Complete the application form for the Visa Debit Card at the bank branch where the customer has an account, along with providing one of their identification documents (Civil ID or Passport).
-
Once the above data is provided, the branch will furnish the customer with the card receipt date and the corresponding Personal Identification Number (PIN).
Card Information:
-
Cardholders can verify whether their Visa Debit Card is accepted by checking for the Visa logo, usually prominently displayed on stickers in points of sale or on ATMs for financial institutions. If these stickers are not available, the customer can inquire directly with the merchant or institution.
-
The bank branch will follow up on the card activation process as soon as the customer receives both the card and its associated PIN, allowing them to use the card.
-
Transaction rejection may occur if there is insufficient balance in the cardholder's linked bank account. Therefore, cardholders should ensure the availability of sufficient funds before using the card for withdrawals or purchases.
-
In case the cardholder forgets the Personal Identification Number (PIN), they should visit the bank branch to undergo the process of issuing a new PIN, bringing one of their identification documents (Civil ID or Passport).
-
As a security measure, the ATM will capture the card if the customer enters the wrong PIN three times in a row. Even if this occurs on different ATMs, the cardholder should go to the bank branch, bringing an identification document, to receive the card. The bank will then reactivate the PIN for further use or issue a new one if the customer forgets it.
-
To know the daily purchase limit, daily withdrawal limit, and the allowed number of daily transactions, the cardholder should inquire at one of the bank branches for this information. For any other questions or inquiries related to the Visa Debit Card, they should contact the bank's customer service.
-
If any issues arise with the card, the cardholder should contact their branch or the customer service number located on the back of the card.
Secure Use of Visa Debit Card:
-
Upon receiving the card, the cardholder should immediately sign on the designated signature strip inside the card envelope using a dry ink pen.
-
Keep the document inside the envelope in a secure place for reference and avoid storing the PIN in the wallet. Memorize it discreetly.
-
Regularly check the card to ensure its presence, and never leave it unattended.
-
When paying with the Visa Debit Card, verify the information on the sales receipt and compare it with the transactions listed on your account statement.
-
Destroy copies of receipts, flight tickets, or anything displaying your card numbers after use.
-
When using the card at ATMs, ensure that the PIN is not exposed to anyone nearby. Withdraw the card immediately after completing the transaction, and verify the withdrawal amount.
-
When making online purchases, use websites that implement a secure protocol (https). Before entering card details, ensure the webpage address begins with "https." Never disclose financial or personal information on unfamiliar websites or respond to any emails requesting such information. Only share card details during a legitimate purchase.
-
Regularly check the deducted amounts from the linked account by either requesting a statement directly from the bank, subscribing to online banking services, or using mobile banking services provided by the Islamic Investment Bank.
Lost Visa Debit Card:
-
In case of losing the card due to theft or misplacement, the cardholder must immediately notify the bank. The bank will cancel the lost card, and a new one will be issued later.
-
If the cardholder suspects any fraudulent activity related to online transactions on their account, they must notify the bank to investigate and take necessary actions.
-
These guidelines aim to ensure the secure and responsible use of the Visa Debit Card provided by the Islamic Investment Bank.
